H2O
Trio H2O
Flute, cello and harp - three mellow, engaging musical instruments and three friends who love to perform classical music. On November 20 immerse yourself in a guided concert of colorful imagery presented by the Champagne of Chamber Music, Trio H2O. Join flautist Ann Huntoon, cellist Susan Halderman and harpist Serena O’Meara as they whisk you from a Baroque interpretation of flowers in Scotland (Airs for the Seasons) by cellist James Oswald to the 19th Century European concert stage where German born composer/harpist Charles Oberthur would show-off virtuoso skill in his Trio for Flute, Cello and Harp. Our tour will include a stop at Maurice Ravel’s Tombeau de Couperin – a tribute to his friends he’d lost in WWI. You will meet young Czech composer Antonin Dvorak as he honored his friend, Johannes Brahms, by composing a set of Slavonic Dances in the Brahm’s Hungarian Dances style. Be introduced to another, perhaps not as well known Hungarian composer, Laszlo Lajtha, who penned his Trio for Flute, Cello and Harp while visiting France in 1935.
